Tinker's Bag
Display Dance

This covers a multitude of different traditional styles and teams throughout the county.

It is estimated that more than 2,000 people are actively involved in traditional dance in Wiltshire and the immediate surrounding areas. Not exactly a minority hobby is it?

Morris.

There are teams (or sides) from just about every corner of the county, including Chippenham, Holt, Westbury, Bathampton, Salisbury and Devizes.
Some of these sides have been dancing and carrying on the tradition for many years and expect to do so for many more to come. They are always looking for new members to join them.

Clog Dance.

Many styles here also, but the predominant types are North West Clog and Clog Stepping.

Appalachian.

This is an American style of Clog or hard shoe dance. Much akin to Tap and is an exciting and lively style of dance - and can be exhausting just to watch !

Step Dancing.

There is no specific information about local step dancing to or knowledge, but we live in hope that someone can remember some Wiltshire stepping ???
